* Abraham was born in the Country of Chaldae in the City of Ur
* Abraham since birth was a idol worshiper , so why would god choose a Idol worshiper .
Ps 139 -- this verse say God knows us inside out , he knows the very time we take our 1st breathe to the very time we take our last breathe, he has woven us in our mothers womb. In the same way he knew Abraham's Heart , Abraham had the desire to walk in faith with God .
God Speaks to us
* God spoke to Abraham in very visual and vocal ways .. in those day God used to speak to his people directly , But now with the death and resurrection of Jesus , the holy Spirit speaks to us through the "Word of God " -- the bible .
What did God speak to Abraham !!
1) Leave your country
* He had to leave behind his family the possession he loved most , to walk in faith with God .
* What is God asking you to give up ?
2) I will make you a great Nation
* Remember Abraham was 75 years old at the time, he had to have amazing faith to believe this statement .
* In what way is God is asking you to trust Him ?
3) I will bless you and all people through you
* Is God calling you to bless others , what must you do first to receive the blessing God wants to give you
What was God's Ultimate aim in doing all this !!?
God knew from the beginning that man is wicked and that man needed a saviour so though the blood line of Abraham ,... David ... Jesus was born to save HIS people form eternal hell ..
Remember God's promise is not like human promise, when he say he want to bless you .. He really means every word ...
Just to bless us today , God used Abraham ..... Issac ... David .. Saul ............. Then Our saviour - Jesus, In God's eyes we are very precious to him .
The Bible is full of the promises God wants to bless you Today , this very time this very place
Here are some blessing if you just believe .
Prvb 3:5 -- Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Prvb 3:8 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Phill 4:13 -- I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
