Gen 13:1 --> if you go to the left i will go to the right .
We see in this chapter , the character of Abraham, he gave up his right to make the first choice and let his nephew Lot to chose the well fertile prosperous land ... And Abraham settled for the desert land
Why would Abraham settle for the desert land ?
Because Abraham knew the promise the lord had given him, Abraham believed even when it didn't seem logical.
The character of Lot -- He choose to please him self and his herdsmen and not consider his Uncle Abraham .
Think about this :
Do we in our lives behave like Lot some time, when we only think about ourselves and not take into consideration what others needs are .
Lot's choice was not God's choice , he chose the land on what he saw in the physical with his eyes and didn't ask God if that was the right choice . ....
Some time do we make choices directly on what we see and do we make choices in a hurry . Lot Chose the land -- Sodom and Gomorah and we know that God destroyed this land because of its wickedness.
Which of the Two am i like :
Lot : Making his own choice
Abraham : Choosing to do God's will
Question to ponder :
Q) Do you think obeying your parents is greater than doing the thing you feel right ?
When you read Mat 8:36 "of what worth is it to gain the whole world but lose your soul " ... How does this verse speak to you .
The Rewards of Godly character :
Because God saw Abraham's character and Faith .. this is what the Lord blessed him with ( gen 13:14 )
The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."
Abraham chose the desert land , But the Lord provided for him more than what he could possibly think of .
In your life has the Lord provided for your needs more than abundantly
Has the Lord ever answered your most desperate prayers .

Write a small prayer to thank the Lord for all his Provisions in your life .
Be blessed and have a Great day
